Design Documentation
For the laser assignment, we had three projects.
The first was to create a notebook. For that project, I decided to make a cool Bucks design on the front and their slogan and a trophy on the back. I then went to the laser cutter and cut both sides. After that, I cut out pieces of paper to go into the notebook. Then I binded it all together to get my final notebook.
For the water bottle I put in a Milwaukee Brewers design with some of their logos. I made the design in Illustrator and then set up the laser engraver for the bottle and got my water bottle!
The last assignment was to use Thingiverse to create a 3d object. For that, I decided on a Harry Potter glasses design that I found. I downloaded the files, printed the parts, and put it together!

Design Sketches
The "Recipe"
For the notebook, start by picking out a design. You need a front and back design to go into Adobe Illustrator. Make sure that you have both the cutting and engraving requirements for each side. Then in the print setup, make sure you select the correct material and thickness in the setup. Then print it to the UCP software. Once in the software make sure everything aligns correctly and press play. After it is done engraving and cutting, cut out paper to go into it, then bind it together and you have yourself a notebook!
For the water bottle, you also start by picking out a design. Make sure that the design is something you want to go around your bottle. Once you have your design head to the laser. Set the laser up so that you can put your water bottle in it and put the appropriate settings in the print settings of the Illustrator file. Then make sure everything in the UCP software looks good and press play, once it's done you have yourself a water bottle!
For the Thingiverse assignment, check out Thingiverse's website and search "laser cut". Pick out a cool design with compatible files and download it. Once downloaded, open the file in Adobe Illustrator. Then make sure everything is logical and print the file following correct setup for the UCP. In the UCP software double check everything looks right and press play. After it cuts it all out, take your parts and follow instructions by the Thingiverse user and assemble it, and BOOM you have your Thingiverse project!

Summary
Looking back at this rotation, the laser cutter really seems to be a very powerful and versatile piece of equipment. It is amazing how different the three things I made are and that they are all made on the same machine. The biggest trouble with this rotation was time, unfortunately since there are three projects, two lasers, and a lot of people, it was difficult to finish on time. But regardless, it was a fun rotation and I absolutely love the water bottle!
